Elders Thomas & Williams Birthdays

Happy Birthday to Elder Thomas & Elder Williams!

A Sister Missionary brought a chocolate cake.

I brought everyone a banana muffin 

from my Banana Bread Recipe.

See the muffin with the candle?

Elder Williams already ate his before the picture was taken!

Everyone loved the 'muffins'!

They said they have never liked banana cake.

But they loved mine!

They all want the recipe!

I didn't frost them because of time.

Our oven is only big enough to bake 12 at a time.

I baked the first 12 too long because I didn't hear the timer.

So I threw that batch away.

The other ones I took even though they were baked a bit longer than I liked!

But they loved them so that's all that matters!!!

Lover's Lane

Garth & Joanne Pitman graciously

 took us on a trip to Wivenhoe Damn.

On the way we found Queensland's Only Lovers Lane!

Had to stop and take pictures of this momentous place!

This is a mango tree.  

The Polynesians harvest it before it is fully ripe.  

They make some delicious meal out of them.

Temple Session with the Ences

Our last Temple session with

President & Sister Pence.

We'll miss them very much.

They fly back to St. George, Utah on June 30.

On the same day President & Sister Vongsawad

from San Diego will fly in to take over 

the Brisbane Australia Mission.

 They will meet with each other for a few hours.

Of course they have been talking for a while.

 These missionaries are amazing!  

As I was thinking about this Missionary Army

 that we are apart of ~ it came to me that 

it is probably the only organization on earth

whose sole purpose is to bring souls unto Christ and 

who don't have anything to do with money.

So many businesses and organizations do

things because of money.  Their decisions

are based on how much money they can get.

It's all about money.

In the missionary cause our main purpose is

to bring souls unto Christ.

It's not about getting money from anyone.

It is about ~

 "Inviting others to come to Christ

by helping them receive the restored gospel

through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the end."

Yes we have to deal with money but that is not our main purpose.

It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to 

Serve the Lord wholly!

:...Come unto me all ye ends of the earth, buy milk, and honey, 

without money and without price."

~2 Nephi 26-25

Come unto Christ - buy milk and honey ~ receive blessings and joy.

Without money and without price ~ The gospel has no earthly price

 it is free to all who come unto Him!

There is not another organization like this on the Earth!

Dinner With Bishop Williams

Bishop Williams, His wife Evelyn, and 

Children, Maxwell, LeGrande, Rebecca, & 

invited us for dinner. 

We had barbecue chicken, steak, & sausages.

We enjoyed a yummy fresh corn, avocado, & cilantro salad.

Gigi quite enjoyed it.  Gigi usually doesn't like cilantro but it was good.

They also served a delicious potato salad!

Then we had a frozen ice cream cone for dessert!

We had a lovey time.  We appreciated their kindness!

 

QUESTION ~ What ingredient did Gigi kind of like that she usually doesn't like?

Crochet Bag

 Sister Ryter asked me to make her a little bag 

to put her small set of scriptures in.  

So I made this up totally on my own.  I didn't have a pattern.  

I was very happy how it turned out!  Sister Ryter was thrilled!

We had a lovely meal with the Parson Family and the Sister Missionaries.

We enjoyed Barbecued Chicken, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin!

The Parsons are moving to Whidbey Island, Washington in August for 3 years.

Her husband wasn't home when the picture was taken.  

He is in the Australian Airforce and that is the reason they will be moving.

The Sisters taught us how to tie a knot in a rope when you have both ends in your hands.

You can't let go of the rope.

Do you know how to do that?

Our First & Last Family Home Evening with President & Sister Ence.

We enjoyed a delightful evening.  

Everyone brought a main dish & dessert to share.

We brought au grautin potatoes with ham and Costco chocolate covered nuts!

We had an American History Lesson by Brother & Sister Batton.

Dinner with the Brown Family

We had a Lovely Dinner with the Brown Family!

We devoured a delicious soup made 

of potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and rice noodles.

Delicious Bread was also eaten. 

For Dessert was Sticky Date Pudding,

 which is a cake, with caramel sauce.

They also gave us Pavlova with fruit and whipped cream to take home.

It was super yummy!
